Fun Fact Friday: Portion Distortion!

You can eat all the right things but in the wrong amounts and not achieve your goals. We have seen hundreds of clients eating “clean” and only the best foods yet they are frustrated because they are not seeing the results they want. What is going wrong?

Portion sizes tend to be one of the toughest things for clients to get under control. Try to use these tips to help you stay on track:

  1. Use the plate method: 1/2 plate non-starchy veggies, 1/4 lean meat and 1/4 complex carb
  2. Use your hands: 2 fists (non-starchy veggies), 1 fist (complex starch), palm of your hand (protein)
  3. Tips when eating out: stick to the lunch portion, split an entree with a friend, take 1/2 to-go right off the bat!
  4. Healthy fats: pingpong ball (nut butter), dice (butter)
