Self-care can be defined as caring for yourself.
Self-care encompasses so many things to help you become the healthiest version of yourself.
Self-care really varies from person to person. Think about anything that you can do to keep yourself healthy, either physically, mentally, and or spiritually.
It’s important that you figure out what you need to do physically, to help you manage stress and self-care. Everyone handles and deals with managing stress differently.
There’s so much research that shows that physical activity can improve stress, sleep, health, helping you become a better person.
Having a mental health counselor can help with managing mental stress and mental self-care.
Find different ways to relax and put your mind at ease. You can do journaling, it can be meditation, rhythmic breathing, there’s a lot of different ways that you can help your mental self-care. You have to be intentional and consistent to have that maximum impact.
You have to make yourself priority. You have to keep yourself accountable, a commitment to yourself. It’s okay to say no sometime, to not please other people or to re-schedule an appointment or event in order to check in with yourself and ensure your are prioritizing self-care.
Look at your inner circle. Now think about how many of them are a good person to talk to you, how many of them are a good outlet for you and have supportive suggestive comments after you talk to them.
