Road Trip To Texas To Visit CrossFit Gyms Using The Healthy Steps Nutrition Mentoring Program

There are too many inspiring stories of people transforming their health & lives inside CrossFit affiliates not to share.

That’s why the Nicole and Jason decided to hit the road this year with our media team to capture them. From the outside looking in, it might look like a warehouse but one you step inside, you realize it’s so much more.

We met gym owners who have built Incredible teams of people. We talked to coaches who have seen their own transformations and decided they wanted to now help others do the same. We met clients who went from a restrictive mindset about food and now have food freedom.

Stop #1: Austin To Visit CrossFit Round Rock, CrossFit Hutto, White Tail CrossFit, Obiike Fitness & Yeti HQ

The first stop on the Texas tour was long-time CrossFit affiliate CrossFit Hutto, then to Yeti HQ to tour their facility and meet with the partnership and marketing teams.
Did you know that Healthy Steps Nutrition has a partnership for gym owners to get a discount on custom cups and free engraving? We love giving custom yeti cups out when running in-house nutrition challenges and employee wellness challenges as weekly participation prizes.
After that, we met with Paige, the owner of White Tail CrossFit.
Day #2, we started at OBK Fitness in Round Rock, Texas. Nicole and the gym owner of OBK Fitness, Nnamdi, shared ideas to bring Healthy Steps Nutrition into the Christian church community. Healthy Steps Nutrition will be starting the first initiative this fall at Coastal Community Church in Parkland.  Big things coming! They discussed how to expand what OBK is doing to impact the community outside of Austin to get fit and healthy.

We ended the Texas tour at CrossFit Round Rock to meet nutrition coach in training, Kelsey and manager Nathan.

Stop #2: Houston To Visit CrossFit 1836 In Kingwood, Texas

CrossFit 1836 parted with Healthy Steps Nutrition to take their informal conversations about nutrition in their gym to offer a professional habit-based coaching program in their gym. Since partnering with Healthy Steps Nutrition, they’ve helped hundreds of people in their community and now have expanded into their community and employee wellness.
Sara, owner and nutrition coach, now has another nutrition coach, Sharon to help support the growth of their program. During the class, Mat said, “Everyone in this class has been a part of the Healthy Steps Nutrition Program.”
Mat and Sara said, “We know how important nutrition is to our member’s success, that’s why we require everyone start with nutrition coaching when they start at CrossFit 1836. “
On the way to CrossFit 1836, Will and Jon, our videographers, said, “We are going to something completely different today. We aren’t going to record in the car or anything that we have done before. Let’s have fun and try something new.”
We didn’t know what that looked like but let’s say we were laughing so hard we were crying. The content and videos from this trip is like no other and we can’t wait to share it soon.

Stop #3: CrossFit Be Someone In Houston Heights, Texas

When Josh bought CrossFit Be Someone, he knew nutrition was the missing piece. He approached his member, Mike, in 2018 to start building a nutrition program together.

They started a nutrition coaching program but realized they needed more support to take their nutrition program to the next level, so they partnered with Healthy Steps Nutrition in 2019.

Since they, they have added two additional nutrition coaches and have expanded into employee wellness. The mission of CrossFit Be Someone is to help people live their best lives.

Not only is this nutrition team helping their members, they are working with people who aren’t members of the CrossFit Be Someone community on nutrition and going into local businesses to help their employees get fit and healthy.
