What led to the success of your nutrition program?
We dedicated the right person 100% and we as owners, never let her alone, instead we always had discussions together on how to proceed etc. We have always been full on board in this project. We paid her the right amount of money and we always told her this is her opportunity to earn a lot of money and to gain authority in the nutrition world. She is also studying to become a nutritionist in Italy. The success in any case is – having a motivated person and being fully on board as an owner.
You guys have 26 nutrition clients, how has the current pandemic changed the way you are working with your clients?
We transitioned to virtual coaching. We lost almost zero clients because Nadia always kept on doing what she was doing face to face in the box: keep hanging on to her clients, keep posting stories and posts of nutrition habits, etc. Our customers never felt they were alone or forgotten only because we were physically closed.
You guys have added 3 new people since closing-what helped you to get those leads and sign them up?
We are closed phisically but not really closed. We are running classes on zoom and on demand, and we are doing a lot of advertising on FB in order to gain new members. As Nadia is also the girl who welcomes new customers so this is the right moment for talking also about nutrition. Also, we called all our customers one by one, just to know how they were feeling etc, in order to keep them engaged, and this results in new nutrition customers. Basically, always having contact with the customers made the difference.
If you could give advice to a gym owner or nutrition coach running a nutrition program what would it be?
Look for the right, passionate person and let her/him know your are on track with them but let her/him work as this is their own business. This has to be the project they feel it will be their road to success. But never leave them alone in this process!
Where do you see the program in 3 months?
I hope we will have new customers, maybe coming from outside our gym. We are planning to launch some challenges, we would like the nutrition program to be only a retention tool, but also a strong acquisition tool!
Please provide any additional information you would like to include.
We are still doing a lot of work on the meal plans, as Italian food and eating habits are very different from the US ones. But slowly we are making some expertise and for sure what matters most is knowing that the Nutrition coach work is not the plan itself but the customer care!
Are you looking to add nutrition services to your offerings? We want to help!
