HSN Gym Spotlight: BlackFin CrossFit

BlackFin CrossFit joined HSN 8 months ago. Nutrition Coach, Lindsey Lee has seen success in their program through nutrition challenges, social media content and taking the extra step to be personable with her clients. Read more about their success below!

1. What led to the success of your nutrition program?

I would say that the success of our nutrition program came from the results that members showed from our first nutrition challenge back in January. We had a handful of members at our gym that lost over 10lbs in just 28 days, and they were proof that this works.

2. Lindsey, you are great at shooting video content how beneficial has that and social media marketing been to the success of your program?

Shooting video content was definitely a trial and error type thing, and still is lol. Just doing it over and over I became more comfortable, just like with anything. I think posting videos on social media is beneficial because it markets to more than just our gym members, really anyone that looks are our page can see this content and hopefully get something from it.

4. How has adding nutrition coaching to your facility affected your gym?

Adding nutrition coaching to our gym has created another aspect of fitness that we previously didn’t have. Yes, you can spend hours a day working out, but without nutrition, you’re not going to see the results you really want. I think so many of our members have seen what proper nutrition can do for them (especially the members who have not signed up for nutrition and are seeing other people that are losing weight and improving performance.) We also have a community of members who are doing the one on one nutrition, I can hear them talking recipes and meal plan stuff with each other and I think that’s really neat.

5. If you could give advice to a gym owner or nutrition coach running a nutrition program what would it be?

Advice for a nutrition coach running a nutrition program would be to get to know your client, and really listen to their goals. When you can remind them in a week or two of their goals and give them action steps/motivation to reach those, they then feel like this is really personal, and people love personalization.

6. Where do you see the program in 3 months? 

In 3 months, I hope that the program is doing as well as it is now. I hope to keep the number of clients that I am at now, and maybe even add more!

7. Please provide any additional information you would like to include.

I love being a nutrition coach and seeing people’s confidence levels go up. I know how much people struggle with having a healthy relationship with food, and it is such a great feeling knowing that I can help people over come those barriers. It is so important to have your nutrition in check-not just for weight loss, but for a long, successful life and I plan on always implementing that into my coaching.
