Just this week, I was on a mastermind call with gym owners from all over the United States.
One of them said, “The COVID-restrictions in our state are forcing us not to accept any new clients. We are putting everyone who reaches out on a waitlist.”
Another gym owner said, “The COVID-restrictions in my area have made it so people are no longer commuting to my city. We are losing clients because they are not coming into work, therefore do not want to drive to our gym.”
While these are two different situations, they both have the same outcome. They are losing money because they can’t accept new clients or clients who are canceling because they are not going to the gym.
In my mind, the solution was easy. Get your waitlist people started with nutrition to get a taste of your services. The other gym owner needed to switch the clients who were canceling because they were not coming to the gym to a virtual nutrition coaching membership.
Here’s the problem. In both cases, the gym owners did not have the capacity or systems to help with nutrition coaching beyond a challenge or an informal conversation.
In this season, gym owners are losing money by not offering nutrition coaching.
Here are three reasons you are losing money by not offering nutrition:
1. Clients who don’t see results, will think your program “doesn’t work for them” and will leave.
2. Members who are in a season where they might not be active in the gym, could easily switch to nutrition coaching.This is exactly what we have done with members who have not been active after reopening after the pandemic shutdowns.
3. What about past members and leads who aren’t interested in fitness but would be interested in nutrition coaching?
